Warning Signs of a Heart Attack or Stroke

  1. Heart disease is our nation’s #1 killer
  2. About 340,000 people a year die before they get to a hospital but many of these deaths can be prevented by acting fast!
  3. Some heart attacks are sudden and intense but most start slowly, with mild pain, discomfort, burning, heaviness or nausea.  

Signs of a Heart Attack

  1. Pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest, back, neck, jaw, stomach, or arms.
  2. May last more than a few minutes or go away and come back.
  3. Shortness of breath
  4. Sweating, nausea or lightheadedness

Signs of a Stroke

  1. Sudden weakness or numbness in face, arm or leg, especially on one side of your body
  2. Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  3. Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  4. Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  5. Sudden, severe headache
