Mended Hearts Volunteer Visitors Program

The purpose of Mended Hearts Volunteer Visitor’s program is to offer help, support and encouragement to heart disease patients and their families.

• To visit, with physician approval and patient consent and to offer encouragement and support to heart disease patients and their families.

• To distribute information of specific educational value to members of the Mended Hearts and to heart patients and their families.

• To cooperate with other organizations in education and research activities pertaining to heart disease.

• To encourage the establishment of heart disease rehabilitation programs for members and their families.

• To plan and conduct suitable programs of social and educational interest for members and for heart disease patients and their families.

• Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in Auditorium B at CVPH.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  You do not have to be a member to attend support group meetings.

Mended Hearts also participates in various other activities…

• The Mended Hearts Group refurbishes exercise equipment then donates it to those who are increasing their activity in their battle against heart disease.  Mended Heart volunteers will even come and get your generous donation.  For arrangements call Bob Manchester at 643-8977
• Occasionally, guest speakers are recruited to speak at Mended Hearts support group.  Physicians, dieticians, and pharmacists are among those who have provided the group with interesting information.
